Rowing is known to be one of the most physically demanding sports, and a great, total-body form of exercise for people of all ages. For 2012, TYCR is pleased to offer two unique adult programs based upon the Concept 2 ergometer, the world standard for rowing training. No rowing experience is necessary.
Rowing Spin
Lead by Coach Tina Cho, this is a 60-minute, spin-style class taught on rowing machines (aka ergs.) Spin-style means that the instructor is up at the front of the class on an erg and leading the class through the workout. The class is a fun mix of actual rowing drills and workouts, mixed with some dry land exercises for variety.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30pm
Maximum class size is 20
Begins January 4, 2012
Ends March 9, 2012
Cross-Training
Lead by Coach John Davis, this is a 60-minute open ergometer session geared towards the active athlete looking for a low-impact method of improving fitness during the winter months. John will tailor training plans to individual fitness levels. Classes will be more physically intensive than our evening spin classes. Participants can expect to see important physiological improvement over the course of the winter.
Tuesday and Thursday AM from 6:30 to 7:30
Maximum class size is 18
Begins January 3, 2012
Ends March 8, 2012
Both programs are structured as open-enrollment, providing the flexibility adults need to maintain an effective workout within a busy schedule. Open-enrollment offers the ability to attend any or all of the available session dates, with the option to participate in one or both programs. Pay for only the classes that you want to attend.
