The Spring Program for TCYR competitive youth is our transition season from land to water. Open to existing members of TCYR, this is the season to come back together as a team, build strength through indoor training, and take to the water on Bryant Lake once it is safe to do so.
Instruction in rowing technique along with water and boat safety will be maximized. New to the program this season are two on-water practices to be held at the Rochester Rowing Club on Silver Lake, weather permitting. As competition training goes into high gear, erg training, fitness conditioning, and tank training will be put to the test through a return visit to the Midwest Jr. Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The two tank sessions at the University of Minnesota Boathouse along with the on-the water practices are included as part of the Spring Program fees. Participation at Midwest Jr. Championships is anticipated at an additional cost and separate registration.
Participation in the spring season is a critical component in setting the tone for the summer and fall competitive seasons. Shake off the winter blues and come join TCYR for an exciting spring season. Participation will challenge you, but most of all you will gain a memorable experience while having fun in a supportive team environment.
