Twin Cities’ Junior Sweeps Regatta – Eden Prairie MN, 8/1/10
TCYR
hosted the first Twin Cities’ Jr. Sweeps Regatta at Bryant Lake, a
Three Rivers Park, on August 1st. A special thank you to Three Rivers
Regional Park for all the work that went into making the race venue work
so well. TCYR Club treasures the opportunity to row from Bryant Lake
in the Park. We had a huge turn-out of spectators watch the competition
at this picture perfect site. Over fifty volunteers pitched in to make
the regatta a tremendous success. John Hammett, the chair of the event
said “this kind of turn-out and commitment is what makes our team so
special.” TCYR finished first in Men’s Novice 8+ and Mixed Varsity 8+;
second in Women’s Varsity 8+, Men’s Novice 4+, Men’s Varsity 4+, Men’s
Varsity 8+ and Mixed Novice 8+; third in Women’s Varsity 4+, Men’s
Novice 4+, Men’s Varsity 8+ and Mixed Varsity 8+.
The 2nd Annual TCYR Ready to Launch Fundraiser was a huge success!
The evening featured 100 fantastic silent auction items, a super improv routine by COMEDY SPORTZ, and a great opportunity for the rowers, their families, and friends of TCYR to socialize.
A big thank you goes out to Helena Seidel, Board member and Fundraising Chair, for all of her efforts in making this evening such a fun and successful event.
Thank you also to her hardworking committee members, auction donors, and to all of the attendees (and bidders!) Your outstanding support is what makes this organization so strong.
