TCYRC Newsletter 7/6/2025

Announcements

We are still waiting for the race directors to share the schedule for the Chicago Sprints regatta next weekend. As soon as we receive the schedule, Coach Justin will send an email with estimated race times and travel information. We anticipate that we will have boats racing on both Saturday and Sunday: Varsity 8+'s and 4+'s are currently racing on Saturday, and Novice 8+'s and 4+'s are currently racing on Sunday. Athletes should plan to leave the TCY boathouse sometime Friday morning and return late Sunday night (the coaches will share an estimate this week and will share updates when they are on their way home next Sunday). At the regatta, the team will have a family tent next to the TCY athlete tent, and parents/families are welcome to cool off in the tent and connect with other families - and you can help create a great cheer zone for our athletes!!!  The family tent is white, and the team tents are blue and labeled with the TCY logo.

No practice for any teams on Friday 7/11 or Saturday 7/12 due to Chicago Sprints.

Registration will be opening this week for Midwest Sprints in Zanesville, Ohio, which will take place on August 2.

  • Athletes will need to fly into (or drive to) Columbus, Ohio and arrive anytime on Friday, August 1. Athletes can fly home anytime on Sunday, August 3.  More information on suggested flights is included later in this newsletter.

  • Athletes attending should enter their travel information onto the 2025 Midwest Sprints Travel Spreadsheet so coaches and chaperones can coordinate travel plans.
