UNDERstanding your investment

Twin Cities Youth Rowing Club (TCYRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing young athletes with a safe, challenging, and rewarding rowing experience. Program fees directly support the people, equipment, facilities, and experiences that make our programs possible.

We believe families should understand what their investment provides. Every dollar helps us create a stronger program and a better experience for our athletes.

Fall Season Program Fee: $750

Your program fee helps support:

Experienced Coaching & Athlete Development
Professional coaching focused on developing technically sound, physically prepared, and mentally resilient athletes. Training is intentionally structured to build skills and fitness while establishing the habits necessary for long-term success.

Quality Equipment & Racing Opportunities
Access to the boats, oars, ergs, safety equipment, and other resources athletes need to train and compete. Program fees also help us maintain and improve our equipment so athletes can spend more time learning, training, and racing.

Training & Performance Development
A comprehensive training environment that develops the complete athlete. Our programming combines rowing technique, aerobic development, strength and conditioning, mobility, and race preparation to help athletes continually improve.

A Strong Team Culture
TCYRC is committed to creating an environment where athletes support one another, hold themselves accountable, and take pride in being part of the team. We believe the relationships built through rowing are one of the most valuable parts of the experience.

Developing Athletes for Life Beyond Rowing
Our coaching staff brings experience both rowing and coaching at the collegiate level, giving TCYRC athletes insight into what it takes to succeed beyond high school. For athletes interested in continuing their rowing careers in college, our coaches help families understand the collegiate rowing landscape, identify opportunities that align with an athlete’s goals, and navigate the recruiting process.

At the same time, we believe development is about more than earning a college roster spot. Rowing teaches discipline, communication, coachability, perseverance, leadership, and the ability to contribute to something larger than yourself — skills that serve our athletes well in college and throughout life.

A Safe & Positive Youth Sports Experience
Your investment helps provide the coaching, safety resources, supervision, and organizational support necessary to create a positive environment where young athletes can challenge themselves and grow.

Additional costs:

The $750 fall season program fee does not include regatta fees or team gear.

  • Competition/Regatta fees: Opportunities to race against other youth rowing programs throughout the Midwest and beyond. Competition gives athletes the chance to apply what they learn in practice, experience the excitement of racing, and learn valuable lessons about preparation, resilience, and teamwork. Registration and travel fees for competitions are billed separately as athletes participate in regattas throughout the season.

  • Team gear: TCYRC apparel and team gear are purchased separately. Every athlete is required to purchase a team gear package that includes their racing uniform and practice gear. Other apparel can be purchased as well through our team store.

We work to communicate these additional costs in advance so families can plan accordingly.

Financial Assistance Available

We believe that financial circumstances should not prevent a dedicated athlete from discovering rowing or becoming part of the TCYRC team.

Twin Cities Youth Rowing Club is committed to making our programs accessible to athletes and families who are ready to participate and contribute to our team. Need-based financial assistance is available to eligible families to help reduce financial barriers to participation.

We encourage families who may need assistance to reach out to financialaid@tcyrc.org to learn more about available options and the application process. Our goal is simple: to give motivated young athletes the opportunity to experience the challenge, community, and growth that rowing provides.
